POLACEM Polymer Cement Slurry System

POLACEM Polymer Cement Slurry System

Introduction

The POLACEM Polymer Cement Slurry System is designed for cementing operations in standard oil and gas wells. This system comprises a polymer fluid loss additive and a liquid silicon anti-gas migration agent. The polymer fluid loss additive is notable for its salt resistance and high-temperature tolerance, requiring only a small dosage to maintain excellent slurry rheological properties and strong fluid loss control. The liquid silicon product boosts early strength development of the cement stone and improves its density. The system's density is adjustable from 1.40 to 2.60 g/cm³ and can withstand temperatures up to 200°C. It ensures an HTHP fluid loss of ≤50 ml and a 24-hour cured cement stone compressive strength of ≥14 MPa, catering to most conventional well cementing demands.

Features

  1. Simple Formulation: Composed of polymer fluid loss agents, liquid silicon-enhanced anti-gas migration agents, dispersants, and retarders.

  2. Stable Density Adjustability: Cement slurry density can be adjusted between 1.40 and 2.60 g/cm³ by  adding lightweight or weighting agents, maintaining stable performance.

  3. Strong Salt Resistance: Both the polymer fluid loss additive and liquid silicon anti-gas migration agent exhibit high salt resistance, suitable for use with saturated saltwater.

  4. Excellent Rheological Properties: The cement slurry exhibits good fluidity, accommodating various well types and cementing operations.

  5. Superior Suspension Stability: Both the polymer and liquid silicon products feature anti-settling properties  and suspension stability.

Advantages

  1. Rapid Strength Development: The cement stone quickly gains strength, achieving high early strength.

  2. High Density: The liquid silicon product significantly reduces cement stone permeability, enhancing the slurry's anti-gas migration capability.

  3. Broad Applicability: Suited for various complex geological conditions and specialized well scenarios, including horizontal, directional, and extended-reach wells, with adjustable density.

Applications

  1. High-Temperature and High-Pressure Wells: The polymer cement slurry system's specialized additives and chemical stability ensure consistent performance under extreme conditions, meeting the requirements for cementing high-temperature and high-pressure wells.

  2. Salt and Anhydrite Formations: With its unique salt-resistant fluid loss additive, the system effectively manages the impact of salt layers on the slurry, improving cementation      quality and adhesion to wellbore walls.

Key Additive Descriptions

  1. FLO-S Polymer Fluid Loss Additive: An anionic polymer fluid loss reducer created through copolymerization of acrylamide and AMPS derivatives. Unlike conventional PVA and      acrylamide-based products, it offers superior temperature resistance up to 200°C without adversely affecting slurry thickening time or cement stone properties. Suitable for freshwater, seawater, saline, and high-salinity environments, it minimizes fluid loss and enhances cementing quality.

  2. MX Liquid Silicon: A suspension of high-activity silicon dioxide, this additive improves the stability of cement slurry, reduces cement stone permeability, and enhances its strength. It reacts with calcium hydroxide during hydration to form C-S-H gel, reducing permeability and increasing resistance to gas migration and corrosion, making it ideal for complex cementing scenarios.

  3. RET-M Retarder: Synthesized from organic chemical raw materials, RET-M offers non-toxic, odorless, and equipment-friendly properties. It provides adjustable thickening times based on dosage, ensuring compatibility with other cement additives without impacting cement strength. It performs well across various water qualities and high salinity conditions.

  4. DISP Dispersant: Formulated through a "three-step process," this polymer dispersant enhances product stability and compatibility, reducing slurry consistency and improving fluidity for demanding applications in deep and specialized wells.
