MicroSEAL high-pressure casing repair technology
MicroSEAL high-pressure casing repair technology is a kind of external wall leakage repair technology used for large reservoirs and dams. Through special tools and equipment, the leakage points of the wall are squeezed by high-pressure liquid, the plugging chemicals are squeezed into the cracks in the wall, and the leakage points of the wall are sealed and repaired by rapid solidification, which can withstand 1-2MPa water pressure. After plugging, the exterior wall shall be repaired to make it consistent and free of repair marks.
Characteristics
Good stability: The sealing slurry has a temperature resistance of 150 ℃ and can be filled into the wellbore without settling or layering for a long time.
Precise repair of leakage points: The sealing slurry only solidifies within the leakage point and will not form a plug in other parts of the wellbore.
Long term stability after sealing: After the sealing slurry is formed, the maximum pressure bearing capacity reaches over 120MPa, and the overall resistance to acid and alkali corrosion ensures long-term effectiveness of the sealing.
Advantages
No need for accurate leak detection: The overall flow state of the leak sealing slurry is good, and there is no need to determine the exact location of the leak point. Only the leak point range needs to be covered, and the leak sealing slurry can enter the leak channel under pressure, forming a seal.
No need to drill a plug: The plugging slurry only solidifies and blocks at the leakage point, and remains in a flowing state at other locations. No need to drill a plug, only simple flushing is needed to remove the residual plugging slurry from the wellbore.
Applications
Leakage sealing of downhole string threads: MicroSEAL casing sealing repair technology can quickly form a dense sealing layer at the threads of the downhole string, and ensure the effectiveness of the sealing under the conditions of temperature of 150 ℃ and pressure above 120MPa at the bottom of the well. At the same time, it can also maintain long-term stability of the sealing under the action of acidic and alkaline liquids.

Case Studies
XinSheng 210 Well
The MicroSEAL casing sealing repair technology has been applied in over 30 wells for casing thread sealing, all of which were successfully sealed in one attempt, with a success rate of 100%. The maximum application pressure is 120MPa, and the specific case is as follows.
XinSheng 210 Well is a gas well operated by Chongqing Drilling Branch of Sinopec Southwest Petroleum Engineering Co., Ltd. On March 28, 2024, it underwent a pressure test of 123MPa, with a pressure drop of 3MPa after 30 minutes. The pressure test failed, affecting subsequent fracturing operations. After using a packer to detect leaks, it was determined that there was a leakage point in the casing below 5037m, and it was suspected to be at the coupling position of the casing at 5045.77m. After discussion, it was decided to use Jingzhou Jiahua Technology's MicroSEAL casing sealing repair technology for sealing operations. On site leak sealing construction was carried out from May 3, 2024 to May 6, 2024. After sealing, a water pressure test was conducted at 120MPa, and the pressure drop was 0.29MPa after 30 minutes, meeting the pressure requirements of Party A for casing leak sealing.
Advantages and Effects:
High sealing efficiency and good pressure bearing effect:Due to the deep location of the leak point, the accurate leak point could not be determined. After covering the approximate leak point range, the plugging construction was carried out. The overall plugging construction period was about 3 days, and the pressure bearing effect was obvious after plugging, ensuring the smooth progress of subsequent fracturing construction.
