UltraFLO - Solid Free WBM & Products

n  Technical Introduction

UltraFLO - Solid Free WBM is meticulously designed to optimize pinhole completion performance by prioritizing minimal reservoir damage, ensuring compatibility with completion designs, and achieving excellent hole-cleaning profiles. This system boasts a solid-free composition, rapid thixotropy, and unique fluid rheology. Its gel-like structure effectively traps and suspends cuttings, leading to a cleaner displacement hole. By virtually eliminating cuttings beds, the fluid significantly reduces torque, drag, and differential sticking. Moreover, it offers a non-damaging water-based solution characterized by exceptional drilling performance, completion compatibility, easy filter cake removal, and compliance with global environmental standards.

n  Technical Features

( 1 )   Proper LSRV: With a low shear rate viscosity (LSRV) ranging from 15000mPa.s to 30000mPa.s at a shear velocity of 0.3rpm, the system optimizes invasion and flowback pressure, ensuring minimal fluid invasion and easy flowback during completion with breaker fluid.

( 2 )   Environmentally Friendly: All specialty products used are natural biological materials, non-toxic, and naturally degradable. They meet local environmental standards with an EC50 exceeding 30000mg/L and a BOD5/CODcr ratio exceeding 25%.

( 3 )   Acid Compatibility: Both the drill-in fluid and the acid breaker fluid can be acidified to more than 90%, simplifying completion methods and allowing for direct flowback without the need for a breaker system. This maximizes production, with return permeabilities exceeding 85% and cut end face return permeabilities surpassing 90%.

n  Application

UltraFLO - Solid Free WBM has been successfully deployed in various fields, including 11 fields in the South China Sea, 8 fields in the East China Sea, the Chendao field in Southern Bohai, and over 100 wells in the Tahe field in Xinjiang. With maximum downhole temperatures exceeding 163℃ and maximum mud weights of 1.50 g/cm3, no downhole losses or complications have been encountered. The use of direct flowback completion methods has saved time and consistently met or exceeded environmental regulations, exceeding customer expectations.
