QuiSEAL Pressure Activated Wellbore Repair Technology

QuiSEAL Pressure Activated Wellbore Repair Technology

QuiSEAL Pressure Activated Wellbore Repair Technology

n  Technical Introduction

QuiSEAL pressure-activated wellbore repair technology offers rapid repair for downhole strings. It comprises a special fluid containing carrier fluid, short chain polymer, monomer, and polymerization initiator. Hydrated short chain polymers act as crucial active units, forming solids through crosslinking of monomers and polymers in the sealant system under polymeric active substance action. The sealing fluid consists of a special lotion with dispersed phase particles containing an active core. When subjected to external action, the inert shell of the active core breaks, reacting and stacking in the micro leakage hole gap of the string, achieving in-situ sealing for rapid integrity repair.

n  Technical Characteristics

( 1 )   Ensures good stability, with long-term shaft filling and no settlement.

( 2 )   Avoids mass solidification, preventing wellbore safety issues.

( 3 )   Repairs by filling the well section with the leakage point without pinpointing its exact location.

( 4 )   Does not require drilling plugs, simplifying wellbore cleaning and preventing corrosion.

( 5 )   Post-plugging, it resists acid and alkali corrosion and offers a compressive capacity of 20MPa.

n  Application

This technology has been effectively applied in CNOOC, demonstrating high efficiency in treating gas leakage in the annulus with pressure in the downhole pipe string. It allows easy pumping from the casing annulus and squeezing back into the screw thread interior without affecting the pipe string's structure. This results in rapid plugging formation and effective gas sealing.
